Introduction

Molecular Sieve 3A is an alkali metal alumino-silicate; it is the potassium form of the type A crystal structure. Type 3A has an effective pore opening of about 3 angstroms (0.3nm). This is large enough to allow in moisture, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons which can potentially form polymers; and this maximises lifetime when dehydrating such molecules.
 

• Preventing Internal Condensation: The Molecular Sieve Desiccant in insulating glass is used to adsorb moisture within the sealed space, effectively preventing internal condensation during temperature variations and improving visual clarity.

• Enhancing Thermal Insulation: The use of Molecular Sieve Desiccant helps reduce moisture content in the insulating glass, decreasing the gas conduction coefficient and thereby improving the thermal insulation performance.

• Extending Product Lifespan: Adsorbing moisture with Molecular Sieve Desiccant slows down the oxidation of metal spacers within insulating glass, leading to an extended lifespan, especially in harsh environmental conditions.

• Molecular Sieve Desiccant in insulating glass contributes to maintaining stability within the air space, enhancing sound insulation properties and reducing the transmission of external noise.
